A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Dublin for Enoch Edsel (Ed) Clements of Dublin, GA, who passed away on July 5, 2020 at the age of 91 after an extended illness. Reverend Ken Rogers, pastor of New Bethel, will officiate. No visitation will be held but condolences may be posted on the Townsend Brothers Funeral Home website at www.townsendfuneralhome.com
Edsel (Ed) was born in Laurens County to Matthew and Stella (Mimbs) Clements and was the oldest of thirteen children. He was a long-time member of New Bethel Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean War where he served his country honorably. He was employed at Forstmann Industries in East Dublin until his retirement in 1996.
He was married to the late Mary Ann (Cauthen) Clements and they had two children, William Clements and Judy (Clements) Price, both of which also preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Stella Clements, sister Ester Clements, and brother Eschol Clements.
Edsel (Ed) is survived by ten brothers and sisters – Edward (Betty Jane) Clements, Edgar (Emogene) Clements, Herschel (Mary Ann) Clements, Maxine Clements, Christine (Clements) Shannon, Emma Jean (Clements) Connor, Wynell (Clements) Brookins, Fred (Kathy) Clements, Paul Clements, and Don Clements. He is also survived by his son-in-law Bruce Price, grandsons Devin Price (Lisa), Casey (Kimberly) Price, and a great granddaughter Carsyn Price as well as a large extended family.
His grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gideons International.
