Obituary
Frances Kay “Mema” Powell Smith, age 72, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023.
Frances was born in Helena, Georgia to the late John B. Powell and the late Virginia Colleen Moore Bates. She was a member of Dexter Assembly of God. She retired from Farmers Furniture after working for many years as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved each of them very much.
Her survivors include her daughter, Tracey Evans of Dexter, Georgia; granddaughter, Lindsey Baggett of Rentz, grandson Jason Evan Baggett of Rentz, and grandson, Nicholas (Ashley) Baggett of Dexter; greatgrandchildren, Ian Ryder Ussery, Adalyne Baggett, and Emerlyne Baggett; sister, Virginia Powell Meeks of Rentz; brother, John B. (Debra) Powell, Jr. of Dublin; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11AM at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Joey Diers will officiate.
Pallbearers are Robbie Baggett, Ashley Baggett, Brandon Powell, Chad Meeks, Brad Meeks, and Jason Baggett.
Family and friends are invited to visit the family at the Evans residence.
