Freeman ”Bug” Lawson Mimbs, Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, in Dublin, GA. Born on June 22, 1946, in Scott, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lavern Mullis Mimbs, his parents, Freeman Lawson Mimbs, Sr. and Vadie Lee Soles Mimbs, and his siblings, Herman Mimbs, Hub Mimbs, and Shirley Mimbs.
He is survived by his daughters, Sheri (Keith) Geiger and Amy (Billy) Keck; his cherished grandchildren, Ashley Geiger, Brook (Chris) Phillips, Megan (Livingston) Do, Paige (Makenzie) Rannals, and Jenna Keck; and his adored great-grandchildren, Duff Davis, C.J. Phillips, Jacob Phillips, and James Phillips. Freeman is also survived by his brother, Bobby Joe Mimbs, who will miss him dearly.
Freeman proudly served his country as a United States Army Veteran before establishing a successful career as a general contractor. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his contributions to the community are evident in the many structures that stand as a testament to his skill and dedication.
An avid fisherman, Freeman found joy in the quiet moments by the water. His love for fishing was only surpassed by the love he had for his family. Freeman's wisdom, humor, and the stories of his fishing adventures will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew him.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Reedy Springs Primitive Baptist Cemetery with Jimmy Stephens officiating.
