Garland Warren Obituary

Garland Sim Warren was born on August 14, 1941, in Rentz, GA, Garland's life was one marked by joy, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Harvey Warren and Essie Mae Dires Warren; brothers: Albert, Ethridge, Elbert, Eldridge, and Anul Warren, and sisters, Fay Gay, Mettie Whitehead, Faustine Evans, Mildred Foskey, Audie Lee Herndon, Christine Warren and Letty Stevens.

Garland's early years were spent working the land as a farmer, where he cultivated not only crops but also the values of hard work and perseverance. He later retired from Bassett Furniture after 36 years of dedicated service, where he was known for his strong work ethic and kindness. A man of many interests, Garland had a love for his flowers and a passion for raising hogs. However, his greatest joy was found in spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he adored more than anything. Garland was an all-around people person, always ready with a sneaky smile and a joke to share, bringing laughter and warmth to any gathering.

Above all, Garland's love for his wife, Mary Lou, was the cornerstone of his life. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their mutual respect, affection, and unwavering support for one another. Together, they created a home filled with love, humor, and thoughtfulness—a true reflection of Garland himself.

Those who knew Garland will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His funny anecdotes and thoughtful gestures will be deeply missed by all. Garland's presence was a gift to those who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his memory will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Mary Lou McCoy Warren, and their children Robbie Warren (Wendy) of Eastman, Michael Warren (Summer) of Rentz, and Michelle Warren (Stacy Jones) of Rentz. Garland's legacy continues through his adored grandchildren: Leslie Warren, Paige Warren, Hank Warren, Dylan Warren, Tyler Warren, and Jaycee Jones, as well as his treasured great-grandchildren Gracie Shannon, Jackson Adcock, Marshall Adcock, and Jade Trimble. He also leaves behind a sister, Linda Bates, a sister-in-law, Brylene Warren, and his beloved family pet, “Smoky”.
