Gary L. Holmes

Gary Luman Holmes, passed away on April 09, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born in Dublin, Georgia, on December 18, 1958, to the late Luman Holmes and Annette Parker.  Gary was retired from Dublin Construction and was an avid outdoorsman.

Gary was a simple man who loved the simple things in life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Cooking was also a favorite pastime. He loved seeing people enjoy the food he cooked. He also enjoyed riding dirt roads with his dog, Lucy, as his sidekick. Seeing the two of them together was a common site during the summer. He loved watching sports especially his favorite teams, the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed The Master’s golf tournament.

Gary is survived by his significant other, Judy Brown, two sons, Heath Holmes (Whitney) and Holby Holmes, four grandchildren, Tanner Holmes, Kolbie Holmes, Iva Holmes, and Beckett Holmes, and a sister, Pam Holmes; two special nieces, Scharlene Bevill and Crystal Pope; a nephew, Cole; two great-nieces, Everly and Mahailey; three great-nephews, Peyton, Mason, Kade and Silas. He is also survived by his best friend, Mitchell Graham.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 starting at 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
