Gaven Baggett

James Gaven Baggett, known affectionately as Gaven to his friends and family, passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 19. Born on June 28, 2004, in Dublin, Georgia, Gaven was a beacon of joy and laughter to all who knew him.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving mother, Casey Baggett of Rockledge; his father, Will Baggett of Montrose; sisters, Makayla Scarbrough, Taylor Baggett, and Tatum (Taylor) Ellenberg; brother, Garrett Baggett; grandpa, Everette Alan “Skeeter” Grizzard; his grandma, Linda Horne; and nieces, Nova James Francis and Lila Marie Ellenberg, as well as numerous cousins, and extended family members.

Gaven was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stevie and Rebecca Baggett; and great-grandparents, Bud and Jaunette Grizzard and Curtis and Gloria Purdee.

Gaven's life was marked by his love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf with friends. His love for music and dancing brought joy to every gathering. Gaven's zest for life extended to his enjoyment of riding buggies and four-wheelers, activities that reflected his adventurous spirit. He had an infectious smile that could light up a room and he gave selflessly to others.

Those who knew Gaven will remember him as the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a smile. His funny and loving nature made him a friend to many. Gaven loved his family dearly and he was a devoted son, Bubba, grandson, Unc, and Bat Bat, whose presence will be deeply missed.

Services celebrating Gaven’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 5, 2024, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Minter Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Raven Hammock, Chandler Carter, Dalton Hall, Beau Burch, Cale Adams, and Shane Poole. Honorary pallbearers will be Gaven Lampp, Will White, Connor Adams, Johnathon Bush, Logan Studdard, Brody Powell, Colby McCoy, and Dylan Ward.

The family will receive friends at the home Karan Gray, 2270 GA Hwy 199 South, East Dublin, GA.
