Gena Pearl Alligood

Gena Pearl Alligood, age 74, of Dexter, passed away on October 17, 2024.

Gena was born on September 14, 1950, in Laurens County to the late Jack Edward Alligood and the late Mary Chance Alligood. In her younger years, her greatest pastimes were basketball and softball. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections. She enjoyed going out with her supper club and traveling and was a loving sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Alligood.

Survivors include his sister, Jackie A. Tipton (Clyde) of Dublin; brothers, John Edward Alligood (Brenda) and Roger Alligood, both of Dexter and Ralph Alligood (Anna) of Cedar Grove. Several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews also survive her.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Alligood Cemetery. Rev. Larry Waldrep will officiate.
