Gene Dominy, Jr.

Willie Eugene “Gene” Dominy, Jr., age 85, of Dublin, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Gene was born in Laurens County on May 1, 1939, to the late Willie Eugene Dominy Sr., and the late Fannie Allen Dominy. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base after many years of dedicated service.

He was a member of the Grand Lodge of the Masons of Georgia, Dublin Chapter, and the Eastern Star Dublin Chapter. Gene was a faithful member of Bethsaida Baptist Church serving in many capacities over the years including youth director, when his children were younger, alongside his wife, Frances. He was a devoted husband, and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his son, Donald Eugene Dominy; great-grandson, Jude Glenn; sister, Carolyn Nobles, and brother, Anthony Dominy

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Betty Frances Clements Dominy; children, Darrell (Patti) Dominy of Augusta, Susan (Tod) Glenn of Dublin, and Allen (Linda) Dominy of Arizona; grandchildren: Stephen Dominy of Miami, FL; Brandon (Christina) Dominy and Collin (Jessica) Dominy, both of Augusta; Courtney (Adam) McCullars of Dublin; Chase (Sydney) Glenn of Watkinsville; Brianna (Alberto) Zazueta of North Carolina, and Brittany (Stephen) Gardella, of Arizona; great-grandchildren: Owen Dominy, Parker Dominy, Sophia Borawski, Sierra Borawski, all of Augusta; Emmie McCullars and Ella McCullars, both of Dublin; Manning Glenn, and Leah Glenn, both of Watkinsville; Lacie Gardella, and Allie Gardella, both of Arizona; Bella Zazueta and Trey Zazueta, both of North Carolina; sister, Joanne Helton of Dublin; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Bethsaida Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Brad Ball will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the church.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Dominy, Brandon Dominy, Colin Dominy, Chase Glenn, Adam McCullars, Tony Dominy, Timmy Dominy, and Gerad Mathis.
