George E. Ware, a long-time resident of Laurens County, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, May 19, 2024. He was born on October 14, 1937, to the late Mitchell and Mary Lou Barnette Ware of Dudley, GA.
He joins his beloved wife, Colleen Ware in eternal rest. George was a member of Rentz Baptist Church, where his faith and kindness shone brightly. He was retired from Ware’s Radiator Works where he worked alongside his late brother David Ware.
George's legacy is carried on by his loving children, Gladstone Ware of Baxley, GA, and Gail Smith (Shayne) of Baxley, GA. His devotion to family extended to his cherished grandchildren: Matthew Wilkes (Brittany) of Roberta, GA, Blake Wilkes (Amy) of Seal Beach, California, and Logan Evans (Michaela) of Dublin, GA. His great-grandchildren, Olivia, Gabby, Garrison, Emma, Silas, Paul, and Tucker Wilkes, brought immeasurable joy to his life.
He is reunited in spirit with his late siblings: David Ware (Virginia), Joe Ware (Helen), Lawson Ware (Martha), Floyd Ware (Peggy), Tom Ware (Helen), Finn Ware (Blanche), Gladstone Ware, and Christine Passmore (Ovid). He has one living sister-in-law, Peggy Ware.
A service to celebrate George's life will be held at Rentz Baptist Church where he found solace and community, on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11:00 A.M with a graveside to follow. The family will receive visitors Thursday evening, May 23rd at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home from 5-7 P.M.
Pallbearers will be Tom Ware, Bob Ware, Buddy Passmore, Tommy Ware, Stacey Couey, and Harrison Payne.
George's life was marked by his unwavering love, steadfast faith, and profound generosity. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire generations to come. Though George may have left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his journey. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rentz Baptist Church in George's honor.
