George Evans Obituary

George Wayne Evans, a cherished family man, respected businessman, and dedicated member of his community, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, in Toomsboro, GA. Born on August 31, 1941, in Cadwell, GA, George's life was a testament to the values of hard work, faith, and the importance of family. George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris Watson Evans, his parents, Bertrel Evans and Opal Faulk Griffin, and his siblings, Edward Evans, Sue Rigby, and Hilda Ivey. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication in his son, Mike Evans (Deborah) of Toomsboro; his grandsons, Todd Evans of Dublin and Toby Evans of Atlanta; and his great-grandson, Kylan Evans of Dublin. His sister, Jean Stringfellow of Augusta, sister-in-laws, Judy Gilreath (Larry) of Dublin and Virginia Watson of Eastman, and several nieces and nephews will fondly remember his guiding presence. George's professional life was marked by his commitment to excellence and service. He retired from Mike Evans Electrical, a business that not only illuminated the homes of many but also the hearts of those who worked with him. His work ethic and integrity were unparalleled, and his contributions to the industry were significant and enduring. A devout member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, George's faith was a cornerstone of his existence. He lived his beliefs through his actions, always striving to be a source of strength and support for his congregation. His spiritual leadership and unwavering faith were an inspiration to all who knew him. An outdoorsman at heart, George found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature. He loved being outside, whether he was meticulously working in his yard or enjoying the company of his family under the Georgia sun. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his love for his family, with whom he spent as much time as possible, creating memories that would last for generations. George's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and dedication. His warm smile, kind heart, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to George Wayne Evans, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those he touched, guiding them like a beacon of his enduring love and legacy.
