Gladys Payne

Gladys Payne, 91, of Dublin, passed away on July 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Northview Cemetery.

Gladys was born in Oconee, Georgia, on January 18, 1933, to the late James W. Cook and the late Laura Mae Underwood Cook. Mrs. Payne made her home in Laurens County many years ago and lived a happy life surrounded by her loving family. She formerly attended New Bethel Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Everyone loved her and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Payne; and her siblings, Murdice Cook, Edward Cook, Helen Cook, and Barbara Evans.

Survivors include her son, Jason Payne of Dublin; grandson, Zachary Payne of Dublin, granddaughter, Paris Mosley (Jason) of Dublin; sister, Lea Zebco of Atlanta, sister, in-law, Betty Cook of Dublin, and several nieces and nephews.
