Grace Harrison Obituary

Grace Battle Harrison, who entered this world on January 3, 1924, in Bleckley County, Georgia, concluded her century-long journey on March 7, 2024, in Dublin, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents the late Francis Marion Battle and Ora Register Battle and her beloved husband, Marvin Eugene Harrison. Grace was a testament to a life rooted in family values and community service.

Embracing her role with grace and dedication, Grace made her home a sanctuary of love as a homemaker. Her commitment to faith was evident as she immersed herself in the life of Montrose Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, led vacation Bible school, participated in Women on Mission, and lifted her voice in harmonic praise as a member of the church choir. She extended her fellowship as part of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and the Montrose Allentown Senior Citizens Group.

Beyond her church walls, Grace was renowned in her community for the sumptuous homemade cakes she lovingly baked, leaving a lasting impression of joyful gatherings sweetened by her culinary craft.

The legacy Grace leaves behind is cherished by her family: her son Elliott Harrison and his wife Edith of Montrose; her grandson Duane Harrison and his wife Sue of Dublin; her granddaughter Dr. Paula Bryant and her husband Curtis of Saint Simons Island; her great-grandchildren Colby Bryant and his wife Bailey of Chauncey, Heather Speer and her husband Tyler of Dublin, and Ethan Harrison of Macon; and her great-great-grandchildren Bo, Sam, and Luke Bryant of Chauncey.

A funeral service honoring Grace's well-lived life, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Montrose Baptist Church, 4314 US Hwy 80 W, Montrose, GA. Reverend Jeffrey Alligood and Reverend Steve Hamrick will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Bryant, Colby Bryant, Heather Speer, Tyler Speer, Ethan Harrison and Joey Williams.

The family extends our sincere appreciation to the staffs of The Heritage House and Dublinair Health Care and Rehab for the loving, compassionate care given to her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Montrose Baptist Church or to Gideons International in memory of Grace.
