Grace Pierce Obituary

Services for Grace Cannon Pierce, age 97, of Montrose, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Walnut Creek Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Norm Yuker, Rev. Len Woodard, and Mr. Lauren Brack will officiate.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.  Mrs. Pierce died Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

Mrs. Pierce graduated as the Valedictorian of her Montrose Senior Class.  She was the oldest member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Pierce was the number one Braves fan, and one of the highlights of her life was the personal outings on the field prior to games, where she enjoyed sharing advice with the coaches and players.

Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her husband, Julian M. Pierce; parents, Jesse O. and Lucille Adams Cannon; sister, Lallie C. Merritt; and brother, Raymond C. Cannon.

Survivors include her children, Judy P. Cox, of Montrose, Larry (Jackie) Pierce, of Watkinsville, Frankie P. (Bill) Pratt, of Dexter, Ceil P. (Ronnie) Parker, of Dudley, and Pam P. (Don) Nobles, of Montrose; grandchildren, Melissa (Randy) Hampton, Jeff (Katy) Pierce, Jason (Anna) Pierce, Judd (Jessica) Pierce, Dana  Hogan (Ron) Cook, Richie Hogan, Jessi (Tim) Miller, Chad Parker, Kelly (Angie) Green, Alan (Missy) Green, Nikki (Matt) Paulk, Traci N. Pollock, Cole (April) Huling, and Chase (Rachel) Huling; great grandchildren, Gant and Segan Hampton, Emma, Abbey, and C.J. Pierce, Ben Pierce, Morgan and Jack Rinkowski, Marlyn, Lilly, and Noah Huling, Grayson Huling, Corey and Lily Miller, Maddie, Mollie, and Morgan Green, Victoria and Jackson Paulk; and sister, Mary Frances Cannon Freeman, of Dublin.

Mrs. Pierce’s grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 7800 Old Macon Road, Danville, GA  31017 or the Gideons International, P. O. Box 27, Dublin, GA  31040.
