Gregory Lyons Hultquist, a man of intelligence, adventure, and wisdom, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, at the age of 76, in Dublin, Georgia. Born on July 30, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Greg considered himself a “Philly guy” and was a beacon of strength and resilience throughout his life. He was the cherished husband of Shirley Lane Hultquist of Dublin, a loving father to Col. Michael B. Hultquist and his wife Gloria of Tampa, Florida, and Erik Aaron Hultquist and his wife Brittany of Allentown, Pennsylvania. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Victor Liam and Conar Gregory of Tampa, and Sienna Grace and Cooper Gregory of Allentown.
Greg was predeceased by his father, Victor L. Hultquist, Sr., and mother, Helen Ann Lyons Hultquist. He is survived by his brother, Victor Lawrence Hultquist of Pennsylvania, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including Pete and Nicole Bishop, Morgan Bishop, Levi and Reagan Ashby, John and Shannon Lane, Bea Lane, Mackie Lane, and Brynlee Lane, who will all hold dear the memories of their beloved uncle.
A proud graduate of Willow Grove High School, Greg furthered his education by earning a Bachelor of Arts from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Allentown College in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. His professional journey was marked by dedication and excellence. Greg worked for Stanley Tools for 26 years, where he rose to the position of Vice President of Manufacturing. He then joined YKK AP, where he served for 21 years, becoming the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing Strategy. Greg was instrumental in the establishment of the Commercial manufacturing plant and played a pivotal role in the launch of the new state-of-the-art Residential manufacturing facility in 2024.
Greg's life was characterized by his no-nonsense style and his ability to lead with both heart and mind. His colleagues respected him for his clear vision and his ability to execute complex projects with precision. Outside of work, Greg was a man of many passions. As a former Boy Scout, he carried the values of the organization throughout his life. He was an avid hunter, a skilled woodworker, and a lover of history. His interest in war movies and the historical significance of Gettysburg spoke to his deep appreciation for the past and its lessons.
Above all, Greg cherished the time spent with his family. Whether it was a quiet evening at home or an adventurous outing, the moments shared with his loved ones were his most treasured. Greg's life was a testament to the power of hard work, the importance of family, and the joy of pursuing one's passions.
