Helen Claxton Fordham, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
Born in Homerville, Georgia, Mrs. Fordham was the daughter of a Baptist minister and was raised in a Baptist church. She continued to be active and involved in church throughout her life and was a currently a member of Pinehurst Drive Baptist Church. Mrs. Fordham worked at Claxton Hospital for several years before having children and later worked at Mohawk Industries until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. James and Ethel Wood Claxton; son, Craig Fordham; and siblings, Wade Claxton, Miriam Claxton, and James Claxton.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Fordham (Beverly), of Suwanee; daughter, Wanda Scott (Mackey), of Aiken, SC; daughter-in-law, Linda Fordham, of Dublin; grandchildren, Kevin Fordham (Emily), Lauren McCauley (Mike), Josh Scott (Taylor), Kelli Grudem (Mike), Joey Merchant, and Ashley Merchant; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Due to the Coronovirus restrictions, a private family graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, March 27, 2020 in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Jason Patterson will officiate.
