Herman “Sambo” Scott, age 92, of Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.
Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene Cemetery. Rev. Stephen Robinson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Barney Holland, Justin Holland, Chris Martin, Mike Scott, Ross Tanner, and Guy Fortner.
Mr. Scott was born in Laurens County and was a retired auto mechanic. He always enjoyed repairing people’s cars and never met a stranger. He always had a big smile for everyone, and loved spending time with family and playing with his beloved cat “Kitty Baby”. Mr. Scott married his beloved wife, Betty, on June 21, 1958 and was a devoted husband of 61 years, as well as, a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reece and Johnnie Mae Purvis Scott; sisters, Ruth Wilson and Edith Bush, and brother, Rufus Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hall Scott, of Dublin; daughters, Debra Daniel (Bruce), of Dublin and Teresa Martin (Rickey), of Wrightsville; grandchildren, Ashley Martin, of Dublin and Chris Martin, of Wrightsville, and several nieces and nephews.
