Hope (Brooks) Owens

Hope Brooks Owens, age 60, of Dudley, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Mrs. Owens was born on November 15, 1961, in Gordon, GA, to the late Johnny and Eleanor Proctor Brooks. She retired from the Georgia Department of Labor and was loved by the Laurens County School System where she worked as a substitute teacher. Hope was a member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lisa and Tasha, and a brother, John.

Survivors include her husband, Kenny Owens, of Dudley; son, Jake Flanders of Dublin; step-daughter, Alicia Owens (Erik Orr) of Dudley; step-son, Greyson Owens (Lauren) of Dublin; grandchildren, Emma Pruitt, Jack Pruitt, Cardin McMurrian, Sam Owens, Grey Owens, Henry Owens, and Abe Flanders; sister, Robin Brooks of Dublin; brother, Loyd Brooks (Jennifer) of Destin, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church. A celebration of life will begin at 2:00 PM at the church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Wes Pinkley will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Chris Crawford, Archie Heath, Steve Albritton, Erik Orr, David Dean, Jack Pruitt, Michael Veal, and Mike Veal.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Poplar Springs North Baptist Church Missions Fund, 289 Hwy 338, Dublin, GA 31021.
