John Thomas “Jack” Wright, Jr., 92, of Dublin, Georgia, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 28, 2023 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born on June 4, 1931, in East Dublin, Georgia, Jack was a devoted husband, a cherished father, and a beloved grandfather.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Wright, Sr. and Nannie Strange Wright, his beloved sister, Glenda Porter, his dear brother, Bob Wright, and his brother-in-law, Autry Porter. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Tanya Wright, and his brother-in-law, Vinson Drew. Their memories will forever be cherished.
In service to his country, Jack proudly served with the United States Army as a member of the Military Police from 1957 until 1959. His dedication and commitment to his fellow soldiers were commendable, and his military associations will forever be remembered.
Following his honorable military service, Jack embarked on a successful career as the District Parts Manager for Volkswagen of America. With his unwavering work ethic and dedication, he retired in 1991, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and excellence.
Outside of his professional life, Jack found joy in his hobbies. He had a deep passion for riding horses, often participating in local parades, and cherished the thrill of hunting with his beloved bird dogs. These past-times brought him great happiness and allowed him to connect with nature and the world around him.
Jack was a man of faith and found solace in his spiritual journey. He was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Dublin, where he found comfort, guidance, and a sense of community.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Wright, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He leaves behind his son, Tim (Teresa) Wright of Sylvania, his stepson, John (Lori) Strickland of Dublin, and his stepdaughter, Kimberly (Mark) Bowers of Dublin. Jack's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his four grandchildren, Robert Strickland, Lauren (Hunter) Daniels, Katelynn Bowers, and J.T. Bowers. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Shirley Beasley and Marilyn Drew, as well as his two sisters-in-law, Jane Alexander and Jennifer Salyor.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Northview Cemetery with Dr. Cliff Morris and Mr. John Strickland officiating.
