Jackie Lamar Griffin

Jackie Lamar Griffin, age 76, of East Dublin, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

Mr. Griffin was born to the late Jessie and Mildred Griffin in Fulton County, GA, on April 22, 1948. He graduated from O’Keefee High School and served in the United States Air Force for three years. After being honorably discharged, he met the love of his life, Barbara King, and they were married for 48 years before her passing.

Jackie was employed by JP Stevens as a wastewater engineer, and after their closing, he worked as a wastewater engineer for the cities of Tennille, Soperton, and Dublin. He also served his community for many years as a volunteer firefighter for East Dublin and served in the civil defense.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Yvonne Griffin; brother Virgil Griffin; and brothers-in-law Jerry Stell and Leon Greene.

Survivors include his sisters, Snookie Stell of Powder Springs, GA, and Betty Joe Greene of Elijay, GA; brother, Johnny Ray (Pam) Griffin of Temple, GA; nephews, Timmy (Trina) Ricks of Scott, GA, and Sammy Ricks of Dublin; niece, Melinda Jones of East Dublin, and several nieces and nephews of Atlanta.

Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements; however, it was his wish to be cremated so no funeral service will be held. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
