Jackie (Leach) King

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Peggy Leach King was born on March 10, 1940. Jackie attended Dublin High School and began her career as a clerk typist at Robins Air Force Base. She later served in administrative roles at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center for 38 years. She married Thomas “T.B.” King in May of 1958 and they settled in the Buckeye community where she was a resident for more than 60 years. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of East Dublin. She most cherished her place beside her husband as a farm wife and mother of their son.

Ms. Jackie will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and open door where she welcomed friends and family. She was loved by many for her advice and wisdom during long conversations with her. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “TB” King; son, Thomas “Tommy” Michael King; and parents, Jack Leach and Mary Wilkes Leach.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Drew Rowland, Jolie Anne Rowland, and Jenna Leigh Rowland; brother-in-law, Daniel “Danny” King (Levada); sister, Linda McCullars; nieces, Jane Houck, Sherrie Wilkes (Art Johnson); great-nieces, Brandi Purser (Stephen), Kellie Johnson (Ben), nephews, Mark McCullars, Jeff McCullars, David King (Shay), and Dan King (Twana).

Throughout her life, Jackie brightened the lives of everyone she met and had many special friends. The family owes an unpayable debt to the community of neighbors and friends that made the last years of Jackie’s life some of the brightest – Ray Yoder, Elsie Stevens (Chris), Cil Carter (Charlie), Hellmon and Jeannie Moorman, Tim Graham (Teresa), Dr. Eva Martin and Dawn Howerton, Robb and Lula Leckie, and the rest of the Buckeye community.

There will be no formal visitation, but family and friends will be at Jackie’s home, 605 Stillwood Dr., East Dublin, GA, 31027, daily through Sunday.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 10 o’clock in the morning at Dublin Memorial Gardens and officiated by Simon Yoder with a special prayer by Danny King.
