James Gerald Bedingfield

Funeral services for Mr. James Gerald Bedingfield, age 84, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Rentz City Cemetery. Rev.  Calvin Halcomb will officiate.

Mr. Bedingfield was born May 25, 1940 in Dexter, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late James Wesley Bedingfield and Martha Wilkins Bedingfield. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Central State Hospital where he served many years as a music therapist. He had a love for music, especially country music, and loved playing it through the years. He was fortunate enough to be able to play in many bands during his lifetime. Mr. Bedingfield passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Bedingfield; a son Mike (Angie) Bedingfield; and a sister, Shelby Jean (Ronnie) Hood.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2024.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Wilkins, Vonnie Ward, Dexter Wilkins and Jamie Wilkins.
