James Earl Thomas

James Earl Thomas, 93, of Dexter, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at his home.

Earl was a retired 35-year State Farm Agent.  Mr. Thomas was a member of Dexter Baptist Church and was a member over 50 years with both the Dublin Civitan Club and the Dexter Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Thompson Thomas, parents, Charlie and Annie Grace Thomas, a son, James Thomas, and a brother, Charles Hill Thomas.

Survivors include his children, Raymond (Nancy) Thomas of Dudley, Jan Brown of Grovetown, John (Kerri) Thomas of Dexter, grandchildren, Melanie Davenport, Petrick Brown, Terry Brown, Angie (Tim) Moss, Joshua (Dana) Thomas, Chan (Brenda) Thomas, and 7 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday June 20, 2022, at Dexter Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Danny Duggar will officiate.  Mr. Thomas will lie instate at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Friday, June 17, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. There will be no formal visitation.
