Graveside Services for James Louis “Louie” Ward. Age 75, of Montrose, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Randy Mimbs will officiate. Mr. Ward died Thursday, February 4, 2021.
Mr. Ward was a deacon at Montrose Baptist Church. He worked at Bibb Mfg. Company in Macon, returned to the family business at Ward’s Texaco in Montrose, and then Ward’s Service Center in Dexter. Mr. Ward was a loving husband, father, brother, granddaddy “WooWoo”, and great granddaddy. His family, church family, and friends meant the world to him.
Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his parents, M. A. and Abbie Ward. Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Ruth Ward, of Montrose; children, Sharon Gouge (Dale), of Montrose, Mark Ward (Shane), of Dublin; grandchildren, Blake Ward (Lacee), of Dublin, Tyler Fountain, of Montrose, Cameron Ward, Logan Ward, both of Dublin, Rachel VorWahlde (Dusty), of Minnesota; great grandchildren, Saylor Blake Ward, of Dublin, Oliva VonWahlde, Maverick VonWahlde, both of Minnesota; siblings, Murray Ward (Paula), of Dublin, Shirley Morris (Dewell), of East Dublin, Al Ward (Teresa), of Dublin; and brothers-in-law, Louie Smith (Geneva), of Cochran, Ralph Smith (Dale), of Warner Robins; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Blake Ward, Tyler Fountain, Cameron Ward, and Logan Ward will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Montrose Baptist Church
