James "Sonny" Spivey

Mr. James “Sonny” Spivey, age 64, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 following a brief illness. 

Mr. Spivey was born November 12, 1956 in Dublin, GA.  He was owner and operator of Spivey Truck Service and was a Baptist. He was a loving husband, father and Grandfather.  His favorite pastime was working on the S&L Farm.  Sonny was preceded in death by his Mother, Winona Beacham Spivey and a sister, Nona Jo Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, Leigh Ann Spivey of East Dublin, a son Brett Lee Spivey of East Dublin, daughters, Jennifer  (Jason) Owens of Eastman, Ashely (Jeremy) Ballard, of East Dublin, Brittany (Justin) Maddox of Chester, his father, James (Betty) Spivey of East Dublin, sister, Sue (Joe) Ansley of  Huntsville, AL, a brother, Owen  (Shela) Spivey of East Dublin,  grandchildren, Ryan Owens,  Jayden Thompson, Teegin Key, Jeren Ballard, Madison Maddox and Greyson Maddox.  He is also survived by his dog, Doodle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Revs. Matt Haywood and Curt Poole officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Justin Maddox, Jason Owens, Jeremy Ballard, Chris Spivey, Jimmy Taylor, Greg Jones, Shon Wright and Curt Poole.
