Janet (Pope) Hester

Janet Pope Hester, age 82, of Dublin, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021.

Mrs. Hester was born in Laurens County on March 17, 1938, to the late Authur T. and Louise Bush Pope. She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Hester.

Survivors include her children, Richard L. Hester, Jr., of Dublin, Janet Maria Hester, of Newnan, Carla Louise Hester, of Dublin, and Michael S. Hester (Becky), of Taccoa; grandchildren, Devan T. Leaphart (Heather), of Smyrna, Katie Hester, and Connor Hester, both of Savannah; siblings, Jimmy Pope and Bonnie McMullen, both of Dublin, Nell Hilburn, of Atlanta, and Jerry Pope, of Cleveland, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Celebrant Ken Shradar will officiate. Services will be live-streamed on the Facebook page of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
