Janice Powell Donaldson, age 89, of Augusta, GA passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2025, in St Joseph’s Hospital, Reading, PA. There will be a Memorial Service at 11 am at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Augusta, GA on Wednesday, January 29th with interment to be held at 4 pm at Northview Cemetery in Dublin, GA.
Janice was born August 15, 1935, in Dublin, Georgia. She married Joseph B. Donaldson, Jr. of Dublin, GA shortly after graduation from High School and started her family within the year. The weekend she moved to Augusta, she joined Hillcrest Baptist Church with her family, which she considered her home church until her death.
She had many joys in life including her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sewing, traveling, working with dental students at MCG for 22 years, and entertaining the pets in her life, Cooper, Reggie, and Pip.
She recently moved to the Lancaster area of PA with her daughter where she continued her love of family, travel, talking to crazy Yankees, and assisting her daughter in running her household in addition to daily ups of black coffee.
Janice is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Benjamin Donaldson, III, her daughter, Pamela Jean Donaldson, and her siblings Bobby, Jimmy, and Betty.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan Marie Dysart (Michael), and grandchildren: Joseph C Donaldson (Jennie), Elisha Walden (Jamie), Jennifer Winston (Jesse), Katie McCullough (Jon), and Haley Donaldson, and 7 great-grandchildren.
