Jerry Wayne Davis, a man of adventure and boundless interest, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, in Dublin, Georgia. Born on May 14, 1953, in Columbus, Georgia, Jerry's life journey was marked by his dedication to family, service, and the pursuit of knowledge. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Davis and Sarah Campbell Glass, and his sisters, Debra Dawson and Anna Glass Applegate.
A proud veteran, Jerry served his country with honor in the United States Air Force. His commitment to discipline and excellence carried over into his civilian career, as a founding member of the Phoenix Group, he offered his talents as an intake clerk at Parkside Lodge and he excelled as a manager at Domino's. Jerry's professional life was characterized not only by his managerial skills but also by his genuine desire to help others, particularly those striving to overcome life's challenges.
Jerry's educational journey began in the halls of Little Valley New York High School, where he forged the foundation of a life filled with learning and personal growth. His thirst for knowledge was unquenchable, with a particular passion for astronomy that saw him gazing at the stars and marveling at the universe's mysteries.
Jerry's interests spanned the great outdoors, where he found peace and contentment in fishing, exploring, and simply being one with nature. A sports enthusiast, he cheered passionately for his favorite football teams and shared this love with his family and friends. Traveling was another joy for Jerry, as it allowed him to indulge his adventurous spirit and discover new places.
Above all, Jerry cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Debra Davis, and their loving children, Sara (Damon) Boyd, Autumn (Jack Wentz) Davis, and Nona (Mark) Dasher. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Landon Bloodworth, Bentley Bloodworth, Ayden Davis, Cindy Davis, Jackson Wentz, Jeremy Wentz, Keegan Wentz, Kason Davis, Ian Davis, Tensley Davis, Cooper Dasher, and Riley Dasher. Jerry will also be fondly remembered by his sister, Kathy (Rick) Butts; half-sister, Lelia (Johnny) Holmes; step-sister, Dawn Wood; step-brothers, Ricky (Sharon) Crabb and Cliff Crabb; step-mother, Nellie Davis; and brother-in-law, Carl Horton and several nieces and nephews.
