Jerry Ellis Mimbs

Jerry Ellis Mimbs, 73, of Brewton, passed away on October 17, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, stubborn opinions, and stories that will keep us smiling for years to come.

If you knew Jerry, you knew he was good at everything and if by some small chance he didn’t know how to do something, you could bet he’d figure it out, (and probably do it better than whoever showed him). Self- employed and proud of it, he worked hard, lived harder, and never backed down from a challenge or an argument. He had a heart of gold and a sense of humor that was all his own. He loved to pick on people, but only the ones he cared about most. His teasing, his quick wit, and that mischievous grin were just part of how he showed his love. You could always count on him for a laugh, a helping hand, and a story that somehow got a little better every time he told it. Being a Daddy to his two boys was one of his greatest accomplishments and proudest joys. He loved them fiercely and taught them by example, how to work hard, stand tall, and never take life too seriously.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Elaine Mimbs; his sons, Jarred “Bones” Mimbs (Kristi) and Jason Mimbs (Mandy); his stepson, Nathan Flanders (Lesli); and his grandchildren, Dalton Mimbs, Madison Cody, Dylan Cody, Chase Cody, Ty Flanders (Olivia), Jacy Flanders (Austin), and Rylan Flanders as well as a great grandson, Brewer Bailey; a sister, Diane Green (Frank); and a nephew, Colby Green (Bryson). Also missing him are his two loyal dogs, Taco and Bella, who were never far from his side.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Tillman Ladson Mimbs Jr. and Doris Mimbs.

Jerry was one of those rare souls who made life more interesting just by being in it. He loved deeply, worked hard, and had a one-of-a-kind laugh that could fill a room and lift your spirits no matter what kind of day you were having. His love for his family, his friends, and the simple things in life will never be forgotten.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Curtis Warnock will officiate.

The Mimbs family will be at the home of Jerry and Elaine Mimbs.
