Jessica Hensley Obituary

Jessica Misty Hensley, affectionately known as Misty to all who knew and loved her, left this world too soon on February 5, 2024, at the age of 46. Born on September 1, 1977, in the heart of Dublin, Georgia, she was a lifelong resident who cherished her Southern roots and the community that she grew up in. Misty's life was one of unwavering devotion to her family, a passion for the simple joys in life, and a kind spirit that touched the lives of many.

Misty's journey began as the daughter of Charles Jeffrey Brown and Donna Ussery Woods, who instilled in her the values of love, compassion, and resilience. Her stepmother, Beth Brown, and stepfather, Clarence T. Woods, Jr., also played significant roles in her upbringing. She shared an unbreakable bond with her sister, Addie Ciara Woods, as they navigated life's highs and lows together.

Misty's heart found its match in her husband, James Hensley, with whom she built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and tenderness. Their family grew to include three wonderful sons: Christopher Michael Sullivan, Benjamin Jeffery Farrar, and Trenton Hensley. The joy of her life was magnified with the arrival of her grandson, Bowen Michael Sullivan, who brought a new spark into Misty's world.

Misty was the cornerstone of her family, which included her loving aunts Deanea Palmer and Karen Lynn Hobbs; her supportive uncles Greg Brown (married to Frieda Brown) and Joe Brown (married to Jean Brown); her mother-in-law, Kay Hensley, and step-mother-in-law, Docia Hensley; a brother-in law, Shawn Hensley; a sister-in-law, Tina Hensley and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William A. Brown and Juanita Ballard Brown; maternal grandparents, H. Bishop Ussery and Evelyn Tadlock Ussery; her beloved uncle Julius Bracken Palmer; her aunt Veronica Jane Warren and her husband Willie Warren; and her father-in-law, Aubrey Hensley.

Misty lived a life rich with interests and hobbies that brought her immense happiness. Her furry companions, Kasey and Lucy, along with her six cats, were her constant shadows, providing laughter and solace throughout her days. An avid reader, Misty found escape and adventure within the pages of countless books. She also possessed a competitive spirit and loved playing games, whether it was a friendly board game or a spirited card match.

Christmas held a special place in Misty's heart. She adored everything about the season—the twinkling lights, the festive movies, the joyful music, and the delicious food. Her enthusiasm for the holiday was infectious, and she took great pleasure in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family during this magical time of year.

A talented cook, Misty was renowned for her ability to whip up delectable meals that would gather her family around the dining table, creating moments of togetherness and memories to be cherished. The love she poured into her cooking was a testament to her nurturing soul and her desire to care for those she loved.
