Jessie Mae (Morris) Oliver

Services for Jessie Mae Oliver, age 96, of Dublin, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 19, 2020, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Jimmy Napier will officiate.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM.  Mrs. Oliver died Friday, January 17, 2020.

Mrs. Oliver retired after 35 years from Dublin Oxford Company.  She continued as owner and operator of Shur Ketch Bait and Tackle from the 1950’s until 2019.  Mrs. Oliver enjoyed seeing and talking with her customers and friends that were her pride and joy during her later years in life.  She was a charter member of Liberty Baptist Church. Mrs. Oliver was a loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her parents, Horace Morris and Ethel Daniel; her husband, Moody B. Oliver, Sr., son, Jimmy M. Oliver, Sr., and grandson, Steve Oliver.

Survivors include her children, Jean Oliver Watson, Moody Oliver, Jr. (Gayle), Pat Oliver Ricks (Arthur), all of Dublin; grandchildren, Emmett H. Watson, Jr. (Vickie), Tracy Lowery (Don), Melissa Newman (Brent), Jeffery Ricks (Lori), Jenny Green (Jud), Jim Oliver, all of Dublin, Trey Oliver (Ashley), of Adrian, Glenn Oliver (Tabby), of East Dublin;  twenty-two great and great-great grandchildren.

Emmett Watson, Jr., Jeffery Ricks, Trey Oliver, Jim Oliver, Jr., Glenn Oliver, Brent Newman, Jud Green, and Don Lowery will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Wilson, Butch Freeman, Jessie Everett, and Robert McKenzie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one’s favorite charity.
