Mr. Jimmy Bracewell, age 87, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at Serenity Place.
Mr. Bracewell was born August 16, 1934 in Dublin, Georgia: he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Lonnie Bracewell & Johnnie Manning Bracewell and a son, Jerry Wayne Bracewell. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served close to 20 years in law enforcement. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was the former City Management Administrator for Neptune Beach, Florida. He loved being called the Gadget Man because of his love to tinker with things and took great pride in being Mr. Fix-It.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Hazel Wyatt Bracewell of Rentz; two sons, John (Kathy) Bracewell of Tennessee and Michael Bracewell of Hawkinsville; two sisters, Betty Ann (Hugh) Melton of Dublin and Jane (Don) Holzemer of Orlando; two grandchildren, Pamela (Joe) Bannister of Moultrie and John Bracewell, Jr. of Albany: a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Bracewell: two step-children, 5 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tom Vann and Rev. Donnie Baker will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until funeral hour in the fellowship hall of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
