Jimmy Horace Sanders

Mr. Jimmy Horace Sanders, age 82, passed away, Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Sanders was born July 26, 1940 in Wilkinson County; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Warren Sanders & Dora Collins Sanders; his wife, Jeanelle Sanders; four brothers, Julian Sanders, Leroy Sanders, Deonard Sanders and Leonard Sanders and a sister, Mable McDonald.

He was a 1958 graduate of Wilkinson County High School and was of the Baptist faith. He was the former owner/operator of Sanders Construction and was retired as a job superintendent from Garbutt Construction Company. He also worked a number of years for Dublin Construction Company. He enjoyed listening to music but he found his greatest enjoyment at a dirt track watching his grandson race. He was a loving father, grandfather and a friend to many.

He is survived by his children, Chris (Jennifer Green) Sanders of Montrose, Lisa Sanders of Roswell and Jay (Audra Graham) Sanders of Dublin; a grandson, Tyler (Julia) Sanders of Dublin; a great-grandson, Connor Sanders of Dublin and a sister, Mildred Woodard of Dublin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 24, 2022 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 23, 2022 at the funeral home.
