Joan (Evans) Goza

Joan Evans Goza, age 70, of Rentz, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021.

Ms. Goza was born on June 8, 1951, to the late Roy and Maybell Evans. She was a member of Cadwell Baptist Church and was an independent soul, who loved helping others. She was a hard worker and dedicated her last years of employment to being a supervisor and woodworker at Evans Cabinet Company. Joan was currently the reigning beauty queen at Jesup Health and Rehab, a title she was very proud to hold. She loved spending time her time fishing with family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her son, Ed Bland, Jr. (Jimmie Sue), of Dublin; daughters, Angela Maddox, of Rentz, and Misty Brandon, of Jesup; grandchildren, Slayd and Sarah Kate Sasser, Brittany Hutcheson, David Maddox, Jr., and Chelsea Brandon; great-grandchildren, Bradley Mason Hutcheson, Parker James Driggers and Randilyn Joann Green; siblings, Edward Moore (Monice), Joyce Burney, Linda Bracewell, Tim Payne (Donna), and Lori Jones (Miletus), and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 10:00 AM in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Ed Bland and Rev. Greg Lowery will conduct the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Maddox, Jr., Ray Evans, Slayd Sasser, Dan Bracewell, Tyler Bracewell, and Joel Wilkes.
