Preacher Jody Dale Martin, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 56, in Dublin, Georgia. Born on December 16, 1968, Jody's life was a testament to his unwavering faith and his boundless love for people from all walks of life.
Jody was a man of deep conviction and served as the pastor of Laurel Branch Church in McIntyre, GA, where he touched countless lives with his compassionate leadership. Those who knew Pastor Jody will remember him as a man after God's own heart.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Reda Bryan Martin. Jody's memory will be lovingly preserved by his devoted wife, Melinda Martin of Dexter, who stood by his side in faith and love throughout their marriage. His spirit will live on through his daughter, Hannah Harrison (Tommy) of Dublin, and his cherished grandchildren, Gunner and Abbie Harrison, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Jody is also survived by his father, Randall Martin; his sister, Rhonda Burke (Jeff) of Dexter; nephew, Zack Williams (Samantha) of North Dakota, and niece, Randee Mock (Trey) of Dublin, along with his three great-nephews.
A funeral service honoring Pastor Jody’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025, in the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Buckhorn Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Darren Bryan, Mr. Rondie Bryan and Mr. Randal Bryan will conduct the service.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service hour on Friday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Johnny Cox, Austin Smith, Spencer Bryan, Jeremy Bryan, Jim Moser, and Duane Orr will serve as pallbearers.
