John Francis Taylor, Sr., age 64, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.
Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the Federal Government, where he worked as a Security Officer at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. Mr. Taylor was a devoted husband, and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. Taylor, III, and Marie Rehm Kirby; brothers, Frederick Taylor, and Robert C. Taylor IV, and sisters, Robin Taylor and Jill Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Elaine Taylor, of Dublin; sons, John Taylor, Jr. (Sharlene), of Vidalia, and Joshua Taylor and Matthew Taylor, both of Dublin; granddaughters, Katlyn McLamb, of Benson, NC and Starla Taylor, of Dublin; great-grandchild, Hayden McLamb, of Benson, NC; brother, Phil Taylor, of Winter Garden, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Brad Sanders will officiate.
Ryan Chambers, John Taylor, Jr., Matt Taylor, Jeremy Silas, Grady Coleman, and Phil Taylor will serve as pallbearers.
