John "Jr." Wilton Scarboro, Jr.

John Wilton Scarboro "Jr." passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Dublin, Ga at the age of 94. Jr. was born in Millen, GA to the late John Wilton Scarboro, Sr., and Lessie McMillan Scarboro. He was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and had been a former member of the Dublin City Council for many years. Mr. Scarboro was a retired car salesman and had been a member of the Dublin Civitan Club for over 50 years.

In addition to his parents, Jr. was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Nan Carroll Scarboro, and a brother, Billy Scarboro.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Nanci and Phillip Sellers of Rentz; his grandchildren, Kaylie Loftin (Stacey), Wil Sellers, and Kyle Sellers; his great-grandchild, Chloe Loftin; and his constant companion, his dog, LuLu. Jr. is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Billie (Randy) Tate and Debbie (David) Franks.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Pine Forest Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Brett Maddocks will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Laurens County Humane Society.
