Joshua Blake Mallory (Josh), age 39, of Longwood, Florida passed away at the Orlando Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit on May 19, 2024. He was injured after getting out of his vehicle to lend a helping hand with a collision he witnessed in front of him. After fighting for his life for 28 days with his loving family by his side, he went to be with his Lord and Savior.
Josh was born on March 11, 1985, to Billy and Anita Mallory of Dublin, Georgia. He graduated from Trinity Christian School in 2004, where he enjoyed and excelled in both Soccer and Baseball. He became a father to a beautiful baby girl, Mackenzie, forever the light of his life.
Josh had a great work ethic and learned many skills during his lifetime. He lived the majority of his life in Dublin Georgia, until moving to the state of Florida for job opportunities. He was an avid outdoorsman who would fish for hours and hours. He also loved an adventure, whether it was zip-lining, kayaking, four-wheeling, or every kind of thrill ride invented, with no fear at all. He beamed with pride and joy escorting his family around theme parks and restaurants in the Orlando area. He was employed by Finishing Systems of Florida, where he could be seen any given day or night prepping and painting a bridge somewhere. He also loved showing off his work to his family!
He was a strong, courageous, and hard-working man with a servant's heart.
Survivors from Dublin include his daughter, Mackenzie Mallory; his parents, Billy and Anita Mallory; aunt and uncle, Lillian and Glynn Boatright, and a very special cousin Natalie (Kenny) Autry and family. A host of other cousins survive including Joe (Janice) Fordham, Jackie Fordham, and Cathy Allgood. From Macon, survivors include his aunt, Susan Thompson, and cousin, Robin Thompson Cook.
Josh was reunited with his brother, Justin Mallory, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death, were his grandparents: Elton and Alma Woods; Bill and Becky Mallory; uncles: Ronnie Thompson and Kenneth Mallory, and an aunt, Rebecca Mallory Cox.
The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, May 27, 2024, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 AM at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Gerald Frazier and Rev. Bobby Hutto will be in charge of the services.
Josh will be forever remembered for his courage, kindness, loyalty to friends, and zest for life. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and certainly his faithful dog, Bella.
