Joy R. Davidson, age 86, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021.
Born and raised in Dublin, Joy married Bobby, who was in the Air Force, and traveled around the country while raising three children. When Bobby retired they returned to Dublin. Joy worked as a registrar at the courthouse and then at Werden Co. until it closed. She then kept children at her house (one at a time).
Her greatest joy was cooking her chicken and dumplings for the shut-ins at the church which Bobby would deliver. She also loved making lemon sheet cakes for all Bobby’s fish fries. She was a loving wife and mother with a heart to share with others. Mrs. Davidson was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church where she faithfully attended the Bernard Hurley/Ruth Sunday School Class and was a dedicated prayer warrior.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby V. Davidson; parents, Otha L. and Lennie Horton Register; and sister, Grace R. Flanders.
Survivors include her children; Pamela A. Davidson of Dublin, Dennis Mark Davidson (Rosa) of Colorado Springs, and Sonja D. Skinner of Dublin; brothers, Charles L. Register and Gene A. Register, of Macon; grandson, Caz Bishop Skinner (Lindsey) of Roberta, GA; great-grandsons, Bo Bishop Skinner and Wyatt Skinner, and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Davidson will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Street Baptist Church with burial to follow in Bethsaida Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Kyle Giddens will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the church.
