Joyce Prior Hawkins

Joyce Prior Hawkins of Dublin, Georgia, age 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the comfort of her home on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Visitation will be held at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Dublin, from 10:00 to 10:45 AM on Saturday, October 16, 2021, to be followed by procession and graveside service at Northview Cemetery.  Reverend Tommy Pulliam will be officiating.

Joyce was born on March 31, 1926, in Dublin, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Leroy Prior and Orillia Mallory Prior; husband Will E. Hawkins; and her siblings, Virginia Prior Maddox, George Prior, and Isabel Prior Stripp.

She was a beloved member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Anne Davis of Ft Myers, FL, and Peggy Hawkins Smith of Dublin, GA; grandchildren,  Ryan Regester (Amy) of Ft Lauderdale, FL, Molly Powell (Les) of Hope Mills, NC, Greg Smith (Sara) of Chicago, IL, and Paige Smith McCallister (Eli) of Gainesville, GA; five beautiful great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The Hawkins family and Townsend Brothers Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask.
