Judith Pharis Obituary

Judith Grace Pharis, affectionately known as Judy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Macon, Georgia. Born on October 29, 1940, in Dublin, Georgia, she was a beacon of love and faith throughout her 84 years of life.

Judy was the cherished daughter of the late Benny Fred Fuqua and Grace Underwood Fuqua. She grew up in a warm household alongside her sisters, the late Becky Walters, and Fredia Blanchett. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Waldo Pharis of Dublin, and together they built a life filled with joy and cherished memories.

A loving mother, Judy was predeceased by her son, Jayson Pharis, but is survived by her sons, Scott Pharis (Karen) and Michael Pharis (Candi), both of Dublin. She took immense pride in her role as a homemaker, creating a nurturing environment for her family to thrive. Her grandchildren, Cody Pharis (Lyndsey), Cristin Pharis, Jack Pharis, and James Pharis (Tonilynn), along with her great-grandson, Keller Pharis, were the light of her life. Judy's legacy will live on through the love and lessons she imparted to each of them.

Judy's commitment to her community was evident through her active membership at Olivet Baptist Church, where she cultivated her faith and served alongside friends and neighbors. She had a love for missions, and was active in the Associational WMU and the Christian Women’s Club. Her selfless nature and faith-filled spirit were cornerstones of her character, inspiring all who knew her.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Judy will remember her for her loving nature and the selfless way she approached life. She was a woman who found her greatest joy in the happiness of her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. Judy's unwavering faith guided her through life's challenges and triumphs, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

A funeral service celebrating Judy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Olivet Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Photo, and Rev. Max Rodgers will officiate.
