Judith (Starley) Shipe

Judith Starley Shipe went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Monday, January 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Laurens County on June 10, 1945, Judy was the daughter of the late Prentice Henry Starley and the late Doris Lee Starley. She spent her life as a dedicated military wife, supporting her husband around the world as he served in the United States Army. She retired from Tomlinson Pharmacy where she worked many years serving the public with her outgoing personality and infectious smile. Judy participated in many friend groups and always looked forward to spending time with her family and friends.  She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shipe was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lamar Shipe; and two brothers, Gary Starley and Buddy Starley.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Kim Kennedy, and her husband Tim, of Dublin, and Tracy Shipe, also of Dublin; grandchildren, Joel Kennedy and his wife Paige, and Jace Kennedy; great-granddaughter, Kolbee Fern Kennedy, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Kyle Giddens will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joel Kennedy, Jace Kennedy, Justin Starley, Braxton Starley, Jimmy Starley, and Brad Hayes.
