Judy (Allen) Vaughn

Juliette “Judy” Vaughn, age 88, of Dublin, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024.

Mrs. Vaughn was born in Laurens County on April 4, 1936, to the late Julian and Nannie Gilbert Allen. She was of the Baptist faith and quit school at a young age to help care for her siblings. Judy worked at Oxford, Biljo’s, and retired from Mohawk. In her later years, she was a homemaker and kept her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family and was like a mother and Nana to many. She was always putting others before herself.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Danny Vaughn and Arthur Dixon; brothers, Charles Allen, Jimmy Allen, and M G Allen; sisters, Lillian Perry, and Glenda Thigpen.

Survivors include her daughter, Bessie Graham (David) of Dublin; brothers, Luis Allen (Gail) of Waxahachie, TX and Virgil Allen (Barbara) of Dexter; sister, Elizabeth Tarpley of Dexter; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Allen and Sara Allen, both of Dublin; brother-in-law, James Thigpen of East Dublin; grandson, Chad Graham (Lisa) of Dublin; granddaughter, Kristin White (Josh) of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Cameron Graham, Colton White, and Landry White, all of Dublin; special friend, Mary “Louise” Corley of Vidalia, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Bracewell Family Cemetery. Rev. Greg Soles will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Graham, Gil Allen, Miles Allen, Richie Allen, Morgan Edwards, Josh White, and Colton White.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of David and Bessie Graham.
