Kathie (Morris) Pitts

Stephanie Kathryn Morris Pitts, best known to her friends and family as Kathie, passed from this world on October 21, 2024.   Kathie was the daughter of Ed and Jayne Morris of Dublin, GA.  She was born in Douglas, GA on March 13, 1968, but has been a long time resident of Macon, GA. She was a Nurse Practitioner for Houston Healthcare GI in Warner Robins.   Her career spanned a wide range of experience in the fields of Neonatal ICU, Home Health, Cardiology, and Gastroenterology.   

Kathie had a heart for her patients and could always make them smile, even in the midst of life’s most tenuous moments. Her laugh was infectious and her bedside manner put people immediately at ease.

Kathie, 56, was preceded in death by her daughter, Megan and her father, Ed Morris.   She is survived by her son, Dakota Pitts, her mother Jayne Morris, two sisters Paula Hammock (Jimmy) of Warner Robins and Mandy Bunting (Bryce) of Statesboro plus numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and Dakota’s long-time friend Dylan Johnson who was like a 2nd son to her.

A graveside service celebrating Kathie for her family and friends was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Cadwell City Cemetery.
