Kathy Lynne Dominy Hoffmann, 71, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Dublin, Georgia, to the late Richard Edward Dominy and Mary Love Shannon Dominy on December 16, 1954. She graduated from East Laurens High School in Dublin in 1972. In 1981, she married William Paul “Scott” Hoffmann, and they were married for 33 years until Scott’s death in 2014. In 1994, she gave birth to her son William Richard Hoffmann, her only child. She lived in various cities in the South due to Scott’s work, including Charlotte, North Carolina, where she lived for twenty years and where her son William was born. She was a member of Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant and loved Jesus with all her heart.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Scott, parents-in-law Blaird and Lillie Hoffmann, brother-in-law Joel Hoffmann, and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her son William. Brother Lance Cregg Dominy. Brother-in-law Robert Hoffmann and his wife Debra. Uncle Oscar Shannon.Nieces and nephews Corey Dominy, Kellie Howell and her husband Blake, Kristyn Jackson, Kyler Dominy and his wife Kelli, Angela Mercer and her husband Zeke, Gay Tranum and her husband Stuart, Honey Hoffmann, Kristen Johnson and her husband Craig. Great-nieces and great-nephews Cooper Smith, Landrie Howell, Harper Howell, Branson Howell, Axton Howell, Addisyn Jackson, Waylon Jackson, Kylie Dominy, Kyson Dominy, Kenton Dominy, Ella Black, Anna Elizabeth Mercer, Samuel Mercer, Tristan Tranum, Luke Johnson, and Andrew Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr. Robert Hoffmann and Dr. Mark Davidson will perform the service.
