Kimberly Selena Powell, age 49, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on January 12, 2024.
She was born on April 28, 1974, in Dublin, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her mother, the late Carolyn Virginia Darsey Burney and a brother, William David Burney. With a heart as warm as sunshine, Kimberly was a dedicated, devoted, and downright delightful soul who will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Kimberly excelled in the role of a lifetime as a devoted wife and mother. She had a knack for creating a loving and nurturing environment that made her family flourish. Her children were her pride and joy and her greatest accomplishments. Kimberly's love knew no bounds and will forever be etched in the hearts of her family.
When she wasn't busy being an extraordinary wife, mother, and homeschool teacher for her children, Kimberly found solace in her passion for cultivating beautiful flower gardens. She had a green thumb that could make even the most stubborn plants bloom with joy. And speaking of joy, spending time with her family, especially her beloved children, brought her immeasurable happiness. Kimberly's heart was big enough to embrace all creatures, big and small, as she had a special fondness for animals.
Kimberly leaves behind her loving husband, Keith Powell; her three children, Maria Powell, Isaiah Powell and Naomi Powell; her father, Billy Burney.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Dexter Baptist Church, with Rev. Keith Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Dexter Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Lewis, Gary Turner, Jonathon Acree, Mike Braswell, Wayne Burney and Calvin Halcomb
