Larry Allison, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Dublin, Georgia, at the age of 81. Born on July 9, 1943, in San Francisco, California, Larry's life was a testament to his faith, passion, and love for his family and country.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Jennie Allison; his brothers, Jerry, Pat, and Bob Allison; and his sister, Dorothy Hepburn. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Debby Allison, of Dublin; his children, Laray (Shannon) Allison and Shawn Allison, both of Dublin, Esha (Kelly) Potter of Columbia, SC, and Chantel Allison of Dublin; his grandchildren, Dylan Allison of Dublin, Dakota (Tranae) Allison of Pembroke, GA, and Darci Allison of Dublin, and Cynthia Allison of Dublin; his great-grandchildren, Juno Allison of Duluth, and Rhys Allison of Pembroke; his sisters, Sue Hallderman of Ponatoc, MS, Doris Stanberry of Johnson City, TN, and Deborah Farmer of Medford, OR; his brother, Ron Allison of Pittsburg, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will all miss him dearly.
Larry proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant Crew Chief in the United States Air Force, from which he retired after a distinguished career. His dedication to his nation was unwavering, and his service was characterized by the same passion and commitment that he brought to all aspects of his life.
A devout member of Liberty Church, Larry's faith was the cornerstone of his existence. He lived his beliefs every day and was always eager to share the Gospel with anyone he met. His commitment to his faith, family, and nation was evident in every aspect of his life, and he will be remembered as a man who lived with integrity and purpose.
A funeral service celebrating Larry’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
Mr. Allison will be laid to rest with military honors on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
