Leone Rava Horne Pierce, 95, of Nicklesville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Her life was characterized by her faith in Jesus Christ, her service to Big Sandy Baptist Church for 73 years, and her devotion to her husband, family, and friends.
Rava was born in Rentz, Georgia, on January 29, 1930, to Leon F. Horne and Bela Mae Warren Horne. She was married to Frank Billue Pierce on March 6, 1948. She loved helping others in need, cooking in her kitchen, teaching Sunday school, working in her garden, and rooting trees and flowers.
She is survived by her children: Alison (Al) Pierce (Paula) of Old Fort, Tennessee; Debra Pierce Pierce (Greg) of Verbena, Alabama; Ellen Pierce Daniels (Tracy) of Harrison, Tennessee, and Timothy Frank Pierce (Diane) of Oconee, Georgia; and (children at heart, Greg and Amy Orr).
She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Hillary Goodman (Jeff), Jesse Pierce (Abbey), Zachary Pierce, April Carlock (Harris), Andrea Young (Richard), KT Pierce, Heath Daniels (Jennifer), Travis Daniels (Sherrie), and Dustin Daniels (Amber), 28 Great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and surviving sibling cousin, Anthony Butler (Sandra).
Rava was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Frank Billue Pierce; grandmother, Marietta Lowery Warren; uncle, Burtis Warren (Louise), and aunt, Lizzie Warren Butler (Albert); sister, Hazel LeMunyan, (Cobe); brother, L.F. Horne (Christine), and sibling cousins Harold Butler (Wylene), Murlie Bennett (Jimmy), Evelyn Bartell (Glen), and Sylvia Clements (Robert).
The family will receive friends at Big Sandy Baptist Church on Saturday, February 22, 2025, beginning at 1 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Big Sandy Church Cemetery Fund, 15181 GA Highway 112 Toomsboro, Ga. 31090.
