Linda Jeanette Stewart

Linda Jeanette Mackey Stewart, age 73, of East Dublin, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022.

 

Linda was born in Laurens County on October 17, 1948, to the late Eddie and Christine Baggett Mackey. She was previously employed with the Medical Center of Dublin and Dublin OBGYN, where she worked in insurance and bookkeeping. Her last job before retirement was as a secretary at Marie Baptist Church.
 

Mrs. Stewart was a member of Union Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and was active in Vacation Bible School. In Linda’s free time she enjoyed painting, Canasta, and reading. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

 

She is survived by her husband, Herman Stewart of East Dublin; daughter, Teresa Mercer (Lamar) of Savannah; granddaughter, Isabella Mercer of Savannah; grandson, Jackson Mercer of Savannah, and sister, Brenda Dacus (Mike) of Dublin.

 

A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Stewart on Monday, September 26, 2022, at 4:00 PM at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Mike Mertz will officiate.
