Louise (Stewart) Shackelford

Louise Stewart Shackelford, age 78, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022.

Mrs. Shackelford was born on April 28, 1943, in Adrian, Georgia, to the late Harvey Hugh Stewart and the late Doris Edge Fountain. She was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and a retired banker with the Bank of America. She was a prior member of the Dublin Rotary Club and was on the Dublin City Council for 12 years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shackelford was preceded in death by her husband, James Shackelford; and brother, Harvey Stewart.

Survivors include her sons, Taz Dixon (Jenni) of Greenville, SC  and Stewart Dixon (Angela) of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren: Austin Dixon, Taylor Dixon, Grace Ann Dixon, Will Dixon, and Bridger Dixon; sister, Margie Bailey (Beetle) of Dublin; and nieces and nephews: Kristy Taylor (Tony), Matt Bailey (Noelle), Ryan Stewart (Lauren), Teresa Roberts (Brad), and April Bailey Lowery (Tracy).

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 20, 2022, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bluewater Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Wayne Durden will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Stewart, Tony Taylor, Will Dixon, Beetle Bailey, and Jackson Bailey. Honorary pallbearer will be Austin Dixon.
