Lula “Lou” Wyatt Smith, age 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Lou was a member of the Dublin First Church of the Nazarene and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was retired from C & S Bank/Nations Bank as a teller. She was also formerly employed for over 20 years with J.P. Stevens & Co. and for approximately 10 years with Classic Florist as a bookkeeper. Later in life she became a true outdoorsman and started deer hunting, recording her first kill at the age of 67.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James “Jimmy” Edward Smith, Jr.; parents, James Troy Wyatt and Nobie Fountain Wyatt; brothers, Billy Wyatt and Lester Wyatt, and brothers-in-law, Jack Lowery and Jimmy Passmore.
She is survived by her sons: Mark (Judy) Smith of Dublin, and Lance (Natalie) Smith of Cadwell; grandchildren, Kara Smith Bearden (Luke) of Cadwell, Hannah Smith of Tallahassee, FL, Karlee Smith Lee (Rhett) of Eastman, Jacob Smith of Dublin, and Karson Smith (Blake Kight) of Cadwell; great-grandchild, Brooks Bearden of Cadwell; sisters; Hazel Wyatt Bracewell (Jimmy) of Rentz and Becky Wyatt Lowery of Cadwell; sister-in-law; Jean Passmore of Dublin, brother-in-law, Pret Smith (Ondrea) of Dublin, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Dublin First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Bluewater Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Don Hicks, Rev. Myron Wise, and Rev. Robbie Passmore will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the church.
Pallbearers will be Randy Passmore, Brian Wyatt, Matt Lowery, Tim Edenfield, Richard Wyatt, Jeffery Wyatt, and David Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers will be John Bracewell, Michael Bracewell, and members of the Terry Soles Sunday School Class.
